The THR Trainee Program

Claire John JaneRachel

Over seventy years of experience makes THR one of the leading business and financial advisers in the North West. A large part of our success is down to the quality of people who work here.

In 1999 we achieved the Investors in People Award. Since then we have been re-approved twice and were given further approval in September 2005, a fact that demonstrates we believe in and recognise the value of our people, their performance and contribution to the success of THR. The practice is committed to training and invests both time and effort into the training of its students and qualified staff.

We provide our trainees with a wide variety of work experience, good professional tutors, our own internal courses and an ongoing review and appraisal framework. This helps to ensure, that not only will you pass your exams, your development as a business professional is continually progressed.

Once you are qualified, your training does not stop. You have to keep up to date with changing technical and professional matters, so we ensure that you receive effective CPE (continuing professional education) to continue the process of your professional development from trainee to excellent businessmen and women.

Choosing a professional qualification

There is a wide choice of professional qualifications to choose from. THR is a recognised training office for the following:

  • AAT - Association of Accounting Technicians
  • ACA - Chartered Accountant
  • ACCA - Chartered Certified Accountant

You need to decide carefully the most suitable route of study and qualifications to follow. Do your homework: contact each professional body and get as much literature as you can to help you decide. To gain further insight, try to speak to students who are currently studying for each of these exams. THR have, or have had in the past, students studying for all these qualifications.

Information on entry routes into a career in accounting.

THR provides training support for all of the above qualifications, including professional tutoring and appropriate study leave, so the decision in the end is: "what is best for you".

Vacancies for 2008 are now filled. Please apply for trainee positions for 2009 from September 2008 onwards.
